An Introduction to the Kent Smith Family Gospel Music Ministry Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are the second and third generations of the Smith Family to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in song. We follow in the tradition of our father and grandfather, Mr. Fred E. Smith. His dedication to his calling and a determination to follow Christ, has inspired us to continue to work, with the direction and anointing of the Holy Spirit, to the encouragement of the church and the reaping of lost souls into the Kingdom of Christ. We are a family ministry consisting of Kent Smith, Karon Smith (my wife), Kasi Smith St. Clair (my oldest daughter), Kandace Smith Jones (my youngest daughter), and Eddie Jones (my son-in-law). We base our work from our hometown of Hazel Green, Alabama, twenty miles north of Huntsville, Alabama. We are active in our local church and enjoy the support and prayers of our brothers and sisters for this ministry. Our mission is to be used of God as musical evangelists in His service. Our calling is to go where Christ opens the doors and share the message of hope, joy, and peace that comes from knowing Christ as one�s personal savior. We work hard to present a quality presentation of Southern Gospel and Progressive blue grass styles of gospel music, testimony, and when requested, the preached Word. The purpose of this introduction is to make our ministry known to you and to be available to serve you in whatever way we can. Our ministry is interdenominational because our message is centered around Christ and Him crucified. Our ministry budget is met on a guaranteed love offering basis by those we serve. We simply ask that you prayerfully consider inviting the Kent Smith Family to minister at an upcoming event or special music service. 	*Kent and Karon Smith* They began singing together in a youth choir when they were in their mid-teens. They have been involved in southern gospel music their entire married life. They sang with Kent’s dad, Fred Smith, the Countrymen, and Compassion, before beginning their family ministry with their two daughters. Their goal is to see souls saved, and hearts blessed through the ministry of the gospel through song. Kent has also been called to preach the word of God. He shares the word of God in different churches when the opportunity arises. Kent and Karon are very active in their home church, and host an annual gospel singing in August, “The Kent Smith Family Anniversary Singing Under the Stars”. This year celebrates fourteen years that The Kent Smith Family has traveled as an organized singing ministry. Kent and Karon consider themselves truly blessed to have the opportunity to sing for the Lord as a family unit.
*Kasi Smith St. Clair* She sings alto and is a graduate of Athens State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Eric St. Clair. Eric and Kasi have two daughters, Leah and Chloe. Kasi is also a Sunday school teacher, children�s church teacher, and member of the church choir. She is a dedicated young woman who enjoys singing and witnessing for the Lord.
	*Kandace Smith Jones* She sings soprano and is the youngest member of the group. She received her degree in photography and film communication in December 2001 from Calhoun Community College in Decatur. She is involved in the Sunday school department, church choir, and children’s ministry at her home church. She has dedicated herself to serving the Lord and is a blessing to all who meet her. *Eddie Jones* He is the baritone/lead singer for the group. Kandace and Eddie were married on December 8, 2001. He is a very special young man, giving his heart to the Lord at a very early age, and daily striving to be a witness for the Lord. Eddie has proven himself to be a very valuable part of the ministry of The Kent Smith Family. Eddie is also very active in his home church. Eddie and Kandace have a son, Matthew.
